In December, 1970 the member of
the Komsomol has begun construction of deep-water port near
to t.Nakhodka which later has been named Vostochny. After
three years the steam-ship was loading at the first specialized
mooring. The Vostochny Port began with this mooring.
Nowadays the Universal Handling
Terminal specializes in handling of general cargoes and bulk
cargoes as follows clinker, coal, coke, iron ore concentrate,
timber and others. Terminal can work with metal, cellulose,
argil and also with chemical, long-length and heavily-loaded
cargoes
Loading operations are exercised
at four berths with 800 m total length of berthing line. Depths
of the berths allow to handle vessels up to 75,000 MT dead
weight. The open storage yards are 181,000 sq. m. The rail-way
frontage area the marine and rear side is good for 92 rail
cars. Universality of Terminal allows to handle bulk (up to
3.5 mln. tones) or cargo of the various nomenclature (up to
2.5 mln. tones).
The Terminal is equipped with:
- 8 portal cranes "Socol"
with lifting capacity of 32 tons,
- 3 gantry cranes "Condor"
with lifting capacity of 40 tons,
- 1 rear crane "Mitsubishi"
with lifting capacity of 20 tons,
- 2 loading cranes "Sumitomo"
with lifting capacity of 16-20 tons,
- 1 mobile crane "Liebherr"
with lifting capacity of 63 tons,
- 1 crane-manipulator "Liebherr"

- 2 wheeled loader Sennebogen 835 М
- 2 wheeled loader Sennebogen 870 Special
